Completing DIY projects yourself can at first be daunting, however VOX Kerradeco Wall Panels have been designed to be simple to install, whether you are starting your first project, or are a seasoned professional.

Important things to note before you begin

Before you begin, please note some important points about Kerradeco Panels.

Do not use in places exposed to high temperatures such as saunas, on a chimney or next to a stove.

You can only use the panels indoors, for exterior panels, look at our extensive range of cladding.

After you receive the panels, ensure that each panel is checked for defects such as scratches, printing errors or colour differences.

Allow the panels to acclimate to the temperature of the room that you intend to install them in for at least 24 hours.

Building and Mounting on to a Frame

If you are installing Kerradeco panels on a frame, follow the next set of instructions.

The frame itself should be made with good quality wooden battens that are free from knots in the wood. All the battens should be levelled using a spirit level so that they can form an even surface. If needed, use shims or wedges to level the battens.

The battens should be made perpendicular to the direction in which the panels are laid. If the panels are laid vertically, the battens must be laid horizontally and vice versa. The Distance between the battens should be 40cm. Attach to the wall in a secure and solid manner, using screws or other fastening elements appropriate to the type of base.

When mounting the panels on to the frame, screw the panels to the batten using screws through the tongue and groove along the long edge. The screws should be hidden enough so that it does not catch when the next panel is attached.

Gluing Panels on to a Wall

If you are installing directly onto a wall, follow the next set of instructions below.

The wall must be smooth and non-slip to ensure adequate adhesion. It is recommended to use Soudal Fix All High Tack Adhesive, characterized by high initial adhesion strength.
The glue should be used according to its instructions in a well-ventilated room. Apply the glue to the panel in an "S" shape. The first panel on a given wall requires covering the entire surface with glue, each subsequent one only at the edge with the prior.

If the panels are being installed in humid areas such as kitchens and bathrooms, panels and trim joints should be sealed with silicone.

Installation

The panels should be installed from left to right and from top to bottom. After placing the first panel, check that the panel is aligned correctly vertically and horizontally, secure it, and then attach the next panel. Tap this into place using a hammer and tapping safety block.

Before you permanently attach the panel, make sure there are no gaps left between and that the alignment is correct.

Cutting Panels

For cutting you can use: a handsaw, jigsaw, table saw. When fitting the panel to the strips, cut off the tongues or grooves with a sharp knife.

Hanging Shelves on Panels

You should not subject the panels to additional loads or add load-bearing functions on to the panels such as shelves. Do not screw hangers, shelves or other items directly on to the panels. You can mount required shelving on to the wall underneath by using appropriate screws or plugs that are designed for that surface. To do this, drill a hole through the panel into the wall behind it.

Cleaning the Panels

When cleaning the panels, make sure that you do not use any abrasive cloths or scrubbing sponges and do not use products that are acidic or contain solvents. Make sure to rinse surfaces thoroughly after cleaning and wipe them dry. If you leave cleaning products on the panels they may discolour.
